SANTIAGO DE CHILE. - The international community for human rights of the Mapuche people launches through the social networks its eighth campaign to provide school supplies to Mapuche children. Chile's government has marginalized communities and has been repressing them in their process of land reclamation. Below the verbatim reproduced statement:
"The Mapuche communities in their process of territorial recovery and resistance have personally suffered police repression of the Chilean State. Amongst the worst affected are the children of the Pichikeche community who have also been abused.
We invite you to show solidarity in this "Eighth Campaign for the Collection of school supplies for Mapuche children”, to be held on Sunday March 4. The day will begin at 11:00 am, in the area of the soccer field of the Park Quinta Normal, Santiago.
This campaign is a small contribution to the Mapuche families who are mobilizing for the defense of the Territory and our political rights.
There will be music, Purrun, Palin, Iwiñ Kofke. Lunch will also be sold very cheaply to finance the costs of bringing them the school supplies.
We await you:
Chaltumay, Pewkajal "
